I'm all about Experience Design and being a strong advocate for people. Design Research is the key to getting to the heart of what people really want, I make sure people's needs are at the forefront of any design process. I love riddles so problem-solving in my day to day job is a dream. Once I start talking, it's hard to get me to stop so it's no surprise to tell you I love doing all types of public speaking, especially when I'm banging on about Experience Design. I was one of the TechWomen 100 Awards, so I'm a strong advocate for women in the Design industry. I love to mentor people and take them under my wing, and I work closely with MMU and InnovateHER to inspire young people to get into the world of Experience Design. I've been in the design industry for 15 years and worked with many amazing organisations including BBC, Bupa and Hilton Worldwide.
I'm a happy ginger bird born in Glasgow and living in Manchester with my amazing wife Helen. Crazy cat lady (3 cats and counting) and proud Auntie to my beautiful little nephew Vinny. I love retro gaming, collecting Ninja Turtles stuff and building Lego (I have a pretty crazy collection!) I love to road-trip around USA exploring old vintage gas stations, hiking canyons, drinking in dive bars and of course eating all of the food! 🇺🇸 My bucket list is to explore all 50 states, seen about 15 so far, so got quite a bit to go. I'm also a freelance illustrator, so I'm always doodling lots of geeky stuff on ProCreate. But my favourite thing to do is to spend time with my family. I'm always keen to meet new people, so drop me a message on any of my social channels to have a natter about geeky shizzle, America or Experience Design.
The day to day
Experience design is everywhere, online & offline. Design things well to create great experiences. It will have a lasting effect on your audience.
